Multi-award-winning musician, writer, and storyteller Karine Polwart is set to captivate audiences once again with the release of her new album Windblown The book includes a CD and download of the entire Windblown story and music by Karine, Pippa Murphy and Dave Milligan, as well as lyrics and background by Karine. A hauntingly beautiful tribute to a palm tree facing its chainsaw demise. Step into a world of song, story and stillness with this exquisite, 'parting glass' to a 200-year-old Sabal Palm brought from Bermuda to Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Garden in the early 1800s, and to the gardeners who loved it. Accompanied by pianist Dave Milligan with sound design from Pippa Murphy, Karine gives voice to the palm itself, tracing its extraordinary life and final days; exploring themes of colonial legacy, ecological care, grief and resilience.
