Veteran loose cannon Orleans cop Marc Ferrot (Yves Montand) embarked on an affair with mysterious photographer Sylvia Leopardi (Stefania Sandrelli), and when she turned up murdered, he swore he'd deliver justice. Unfortunately, the side lover who killed her in a jealous rage happens to be Ferrot's supervisor Ganay (François Périer)... and he's determined to make Ferrot the fall guy. Alain Corneau's gritty police story take on "The Big Clock" also stars Simone Signoret, Mathieu Carrière. 126 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: French; Subtitles: English; audio commentary; featurettes. In French with English subtitles.
