Interior Fire

A pastoral guide for those who have walked with Jesus and at times still ask, “Where are you?”, Strahan Coleman’s new book takes us on an inward journey from mind to heart to gut-level communion with the One who loves us deeply. After years on the road with Jesus, many of us find ourselves walking by habit rather than wonder, quietly asking why the God who longs to be near often feels far away. How does God draw our experience of him away from circumstances into the depths of our soul? With the voice of a poet and the care of a pastor, Strahan Coleman explores how:the kingdom of heaven is not something we achieve but is a reality alive within uswe find the peace we long for when we realize prayer is not the goal but the thresholdintimacy with God grows not through outward searching but through inward surrenderThrough three movements of prayer and attention, Coleman guides us from mental striving, to heartfelt devotion, to an embodied awareness of God’s presence. As we cease chasing a God who feels out of reach, we realize we are not far from the kingdom after all. The flame is already burning.
