Produced by frequent collaborator Matt Geroux, Complicated captures the last couple of years of Josh Ross’ life with real clarity and drive. It is a sharp snapshot of an artist balancing heart-on-his-sleeve storytelling with a modern country-rock edge. The record features Single Again, written by Ross alongside Joe Fox and Brad Remple, plus Ross’ breakthrough hit Trouble. There is also the reflective piano ballad Matching Tattoos, adding another side to the record’s emotional pull.
