Mule

Orville Peck's fourth studio album, Mule, is his most intimate and ambitious record yet. Following last year's Appaloosa EP, it plays out as a chronological account of the year that changed his life. Across the album, Peck traces the collapse of addiction, the difficult pursuit of sobriety, and the slow, uncertain work of rebuilding. He tells it with honesty, humour, and real compassion, keeping the songs grounded even as the emotions run deep. Mule moves fluidly between classic country storytelling, bluegrass, and wide-screen Americana, with Orville Peck facing love, loss, and identity head on. It's a brave, clear-eyed record that shows just how expansive his songwriting can be.
