Sunda Arc are brothers Nick Smart and Jordan Smart. The two are best known as key members of folk and jazz influenced minimalists Mammal Hands. Their project Sunda Arc is inspired by Jon Hopkins, Rival Consoles, Moderat and Nils Frahm as well as their own musical world.Their debut EP "Flicker" was released in December 2018, and now they are releasing their album debut "Tides". Named after a volcanic arc in the Indian Ocean created by the process of massive tectonic plates colliding, Sunda Arc strives to blend electronic and acoustic sounds until they are almost indistinguishable.It's a process of pulling the acoustic qualities and quirks out of electronic sounds and finding the electronic potential in acoustic sounds.
