Avoca Font Family was designed by David Szabo and published by LostandFoundry. Avoca contains 2 styles and family package options. Avoca is named after the beach of the same name in my hometown, Sydney. Growing up there I spent more time that I maybe should have at the beach so I assigned myself the task of creating a font that embraced a flowing fluidity, inspired by the curls of those waves and the beautiful sea.When we think of fonts that draw design notes from the beach we inevitably only see either scripts that all look the same, or retro ‘surf styles’.As a designer I pride myself on creating fonts that are not a cliche of a theme. But rather have a more intellectual design nod to the inspiration.And I thought why not design a classic serif font with a contemporary feel, yet still have my concept within it.The result is Avoca. A chic, stylish, yet modern font, versatile enough for many different types of print design projects.
