New music collective Corre aims to redress the balance between electronic and contemporary classical music through a union of sound and visuals. The two creative collaborators behind Corre want to create a multi-media, cross-genre alliance influenced by the likes of Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds and Max Richter. With a background in electronic music, Corre’s composer was inspired by a love of classical music and wanted to creatively explore this as an unknown genre for the duo. The project was inspired by the possibility that two seemingly contrasting elements – the natural and synthetic – can coalesce and work effectively. Corre’s musical tracks were formed in a short space of time, aiming to capture a mood or moment as organically as possible. The collaboration has only been in existence since March 2017, further reinforcing the creative themes of spontaneity and impulse.
