Each farm benefits from unique microclimates and microorganisms due to their distinct terroirs.Elida coffee thrives in Baru Volcano National Park's high elevations, volcanic soils, and cool, misty microclimate. Surrounded by rainforest, the beans mature slowly in nightly temperatures below 10°C (50°F), developing complex flavors. Harvested at peak ripeness, they undergo meticulous processing: pulping and fermenting for 30 to 40 hours under controlled temperatures, followed by sun-drying for 15 to 20 days. These steps ensure Elida coffee's exceptional taste and quality.Lamastus Family Estates has won the Best of Panama award in 2007, 2009, 2016, 2018, and 2019. This family-run business is managed by Wilford Lamastus Sr., his wife, Vielka, and their son, Wilford Jr. This coffee was scored 91.50 by Bean & Bean and Wilford Lamastus and is a stellar example of what is possible in Panama.
